Precision boring tools for 3.7 - 30.2 mm boring range

The precision boring tools belonging to the 248 series are designed for machining precision bores. Their compact construction means they can be used where there are long overhangs.
Where they fit onto the machine, the tools are equipped with a fine thread for securing to cylindrical support shanks. Simple location into a collet chuck is thus guaranteed.
The use of intermediate elements means that these tools are compatible with the corresponding Multibore modules.

With the series 364 BALANCE range of tools, Wohlhaupter is offering precision tools with automatic balancing for finish machining applications.
They have been especially developed to cut to a minimum the residual unbalance caused by the diameter adjustment of the cutter support. The unbalance is rectified automatically when the cutter support is adjusted. Upwards of the 36 mm dia. boring range the insert holders can be turned through 180° so that they are then ready for reverse machining. The advantages of this series of tools are obvious:

This is a tool with an additional simple balancing facility, thus ensuring a better quality of bore. With a comprehensive range of accessories the precision boring tool, order number 236019, is also supremely suited for special machining applications. Therefore, for more pronounced overhangs up to a diameter-to-length ratio of 1:8, hard metal tool holders are available. Not even outside turning applications present a problem now, thanks to the specially developed insert holders. Each accessory is obtainable either singly or in the form of a practical tool assembly.

In the 100 - 205 mm boring range this light-weight aluminium tool can be used in conjunction with the serrated tool bodies of the twin cutter range of tools.
Upwards of the 205 mm boring range they are of light aluminium construction for use on serrated slides. The addition of a counter-weight provides balance and so cuts residual unbalance to a minimum.
Reverse machining is also possible simply by turning the insert holders through 180°.
